We went to Springfield MA yesterday.  9 wrestlers attended and 7 received either 1^st or 2^nd place!  This is a huge feat since most of these brackets had 5 or 6 kids in them.  Great job!

For state qualifiers at Colchester and state championships at Hillhouse in New Haven, wrestlers must register and remain at a specific weight class.  Please see USA wrestling website flyer for Colchester qualifiers or Christy/Melissa for more details.  We will get the list of wrestlers and collect registration fee of $16 per wrestler (no family cap) at practice on Tuesday, 2/14.  If you qualify, the registration fee of $20 is due at the qualifiers.  Killingly Youth Wrestling will pay for this registration fee for all wrestlers who qualify.  You will need the wrestler’s birth certificate as well.

We will go to two tournaments this coming Sunday.  Register at practice on Thursday, 2/9/12.

1.     Mighty Mites and Bantams can go to the State Championships at Bristol Eastern High School (632 King St Bristol CT).  Weigh-in 7:30 – 8:30 am with wrestling beginning at 9:00 am.  Fee is $20 per wrestler.

We will now practice once per week on Thursdays at 6:00 pm at the community center.  We will continue to go to tournaments but there are not as many in the area.  We have a meeting on Monday, April 4^th at which time we will decide on the upcoming tournaments.  I will send out a notice after that meeting so you know which tournaments we plan to attend.
